HRCA Registration FAQ's

I'm a current Seahawk Swimmer. Do I need to tryout for Summer Seahawks? NO. Current or returning swimmers to HRCA Seahawks do not need to schedule an evaluation.

Register early. Registration is on a first-come, first-filled basis. You must notify a coordinator of class cancellation within 5 DAYS of the start of practice to receive a refund. There is a $5.00 cancellation fee applied to all cancellations.

Should I add my name to the waitlist? YES! If the desired practice group is full, add your child’s name to the waitlist. When open spots become available, they are filled based on the date added to the waitlist. If your swimmer is on a waitlist, check your email frequently for notifications of openings. Once notified via e-mail, please confirm the class spot within 24 hours or it may be given to the next person on the waitlist.

Who can I call for registration help? Registration is also available by calling 303-791-2500 and pressing 0 or in person at the registration desk at any of the recreation centers. You may also call Kerri McGrath, Coached Aquatics Coordinator at 303-471-8942.

Skill Requirements

All swimmers need to be able to swim 25-yard freestyle with side breathing and 50-yard backstroke and 5 strokes each of breaststroke and butterfly, WITHOUT a coach in the water and have the ability to complete a one-hour swim practice. Coaches will divide swimmers into groups during practices based on ability.

Seahawks coaches are not typically in the water during practices, so it is essential that swimmers meet the minimum requirements. For swimmers who need to improve basic skills, we recommend taking swim lessons to prepare for the swim team environment.
